About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Data Engineer to join our Financial Data Integrity Team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our critical data reconciliation systems within the substantiation platform. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of financial data across our global systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Compliance, and Business Intelligence to implement technical solutions that meet complex business requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects that directly influence our company's financial health and operational excellence. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- 9+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and/or Go
- Experience with version control tools like Git, containerization using Docker, orchestration with Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, relational database design, and efficient data retrieval methods at scale
- Experience with scripting, API integration, and processing large-scale raw data
- Proficiency in SQL query optimization, data security, and integrating Snowflake with third-party tools
- Experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and query languages such as Python, PySpark, and SQL
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to integrate new platforms with financial systems and data warehouses
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD best practices
Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance, scalable reconciliation systems capable of processing billions of transactions daily
- Make strategic technical decisions balancing immediate business needs with long-term scalability and maintainability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the platform with various financial systems, ERPs, and data warehouses
- Develop and maintain core components of the substantiation platform, ensuring code quality and efficiency
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members and junior engineers
- Establish and promote best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment processes
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing through code reviews and technical documentation
- Work closely with Finance, Compliance, and Business Intelligence teams to develop solutions for complex business challenges
- Implement new features in collaboration with Product Management to maximize business impact
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
